Gift Will Provide Food, Clothing, Health Care and More to Children in Philippine Village Where CEO’s Mother Grew Up

When Joyce Macapinlac of Miami flies to California with her mother this week, they will take funds to help children living in extreme poverty in the village in the Philippines her mom once called home.

The women will deliver a $2,500 check from Cervello Technologies to the One Heart for Hope (OHFH) Foundation, based in Foothill Ranch, CA.
OHFH is a nonprofit providing underprivileged children in the Philippines with everything from meals, scholarships. school supplies and rain gear, to health outreach and disaster relief.

“I want to enrich the lives of these kids, so that every day, there is a pair of shoes on their feet, a shirt on their back, a book in their hand, and hope in their hearts,” says Joyce, a OHFH volunteer and charity giving coordinator.

Cervello’s CEO and co-founder, Darnell Macapinlac, is an entrepreneur, Navy veteran, and Joyce’s brother. The company supports youth soccer programs in the Tampa Bay area, and has donated to military causes, including the Army Ranger Scholarship Fund.

Joyce and their mother are planning a mission trip to the Philippines next February. By then, the family hopes to raise $10,000 from friends, family and corporations, which they say will help 1,000 children.

“As a company, we have to be selective about what charitable missions we support, but it is clear that One Heart for Hope will use our donation to help children that are in dire need and give them hope for the future,” Darnell says.

“When you find some level of success in this world, it should be shared. I am pleased that we have the opportunity to support such a worthwhile cause, and give back to my family’s origins.”
